Once again Representative Fortenberry’s moderate remarks are contradicted by his extreme voting record. In a recent statement, Fortenberry claimed that he supported “responsible gun ownership.” What he didn’t mention was that he has voted to bar the CDC from studying the causes of gun violence and voted for legislation to make it easier for the mentally ill to have access to guns. Moreover, Fortenberry has compiled a perfect “A” rating from the NRA/Gun lobby. As a member of Congress, I would stand up to the gun lobby and support #GunReformNow.
