Crawford for Congress on the Keystone Pipeline

I’m opposed to the Keystone XL Pipeline and will be joining the march against it today in Lincoln. IMO, the pipeline is a mistake and simply isn’t necessary. As a starting point, I’m opposed to a foreign corporation using the power of eminent domain to take away land from our fellow Nebraskans. Moreover, the pipeline will only create 35 permanent jobs and endanger the Ogallala Aquifer. Leaks and spills from the pipeline occur on a regular basis. Just last week, the Keystone Pipeline leaked 210,000 gallons of oil in South Dakota. We can do better. That’s why I support investments in renewable energy. That is the future.
