Due to Fortenberry’s vote last year for the Trump tax bill, middle class Nebraskans could end up paying more taxes. The value of each Nebraska personal exemption was based on the federal exemptions but those exemptions were eliminated by the Fortenberry/Trump tax bill. What that means is that unless the Nebraska legislature acts this session, a family of four would pay more than $500 in additional taxes every year. Simply stated, Representative Jeff Fortenberry voted to raise our taxes last year. As a member of Congress, I would oppose any tax increases on working families. The people of Nebraska CD01 deserve better. It’s time for change in Washington.
