There has been chatter that infrastructure may be a priority in next year’s Congress. A good infrastructure bill is an important opportunity for bi-partisanship. As a member of Congress, I would support a money for projects infrastructure bill similar in concept to the New Deal and the 2009 Recovery Act. I wouldn’t support an infrastructure bill based upon special interest tax breaks & privatization. In addition, any infrastructure bill should be fully funded and revenue neutral. We could fund the bill by rolling back the recent Trump/Fortenberry tax cuts for the rich. A good infrastructure bill would be a much better job creation tool than a deficit funded tax cut for the wealthy.
